Deep Sea: Storm of Teeth by James Calloway

Fun but unfocused.

I loved the concept. But for a short story it felt drawn out and the descriptions of the scenes and atmosphere took precedence over the plot or characters.

The characters felt disposable (granted, for cosmic horror short story… aren’t we all?) and the reveal of the plot lynchpin was almost immediately ignored by even the main character.

Gripes aside, I enjoyed it for what it was, I feel it would make a better Tales from the Crypt episode or Creepshow story, and as a campfire tale it’s fine.
